Rap gives back: How one Hartford teacher is using music to help the homeless

Joey Batts might not seem like your average high school teacher, but he has fused his love of his community and music to help a particularly vulnerable subset of the population in one of the most difficult times of year for many people.

Through an annual concert series known as Hip-hop for the Homeless (more information here: https://www.facebook.com/HipHopfortheHomeless), Joey Batts has been using the appeal of hip-hop music to bring both crucial awareness and also important donations to non-profits that help the homeless in Connecticut.
